My name is Mary Marshall Harper Martinez. I have 4 names because I go by the first 2 on a full-time basis (double name) & kept my maiden name once I got married. I hate to be called just "Mary", so just don't do it. :-) I will accept m&m, m3, 3m, m cubed, or anything else for that matter. I'm married to Ryan Martinez, the guy I had a crush on from 6th grade until we graduated high school. Here is a picture of us in 6th grade (circa 1990-1991, Shreveport, LA):
Lucky for me, we had mutual friends (thanks, Tina!) who helped me in my plot to dance with him at the end-of-the-year middle school dance. Ryan was the first boy I ever slow danced with & you better believe I remember what song it was. Mariah Carey's "Love Takes Time". And boy does it! About 16 years later, we got married on July 15, 2006 in Dallas, TX at University Park United Methodist Church. After Ryan & I slow danced, we became friends & over the years grew to be even better friends. We always ran in the same group & even went to a few events together in high school. We welcomed our first child into our lives on August 17, 2009. Harper Elisabeth Martinez. She is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to us - besides each other - and we can't remember what on earth we did before she was here.
For now, that's all I have to say. I'm sure I will come up with more clever things later & probably change this whole page up. Maybe I'll do a section for me, a section for Ryan, a section for Harper, & a section for Gumbeaux? We'll see. For now, this will do.
